Gnawing on parmigiano reggiano, venison sausage and cocktail crackers with Blackstone CS, trying to sort out investment prospects on a quiet, nippy Saturday afternoon (one of you guys left the north gate open last night, allowing another cold front to roll in here). Broker is bemoaning my low level of activity, but just don't see much with "buy" written all over it. I know, he's just trying to feed his family, and he can't do that if his accounts are inactive.. but I prefer to lay in the weeds for now, sippin' and gnawin' and doin' some old-fashioned research. Time to be VERY selective in purchases... and that includes wines. The cellar's not even half-full.

I always used to say, "drink wine, invest in stocks"--but these days, I don't know...I dumped my annual IRA deposit into a money-market. I figured that even if it pays dirt-cheap, it still pays better than my stock portfolio!

Yeah, that's kind of the way I'm workin', Foodie. Money market funds don't pay much, but at least, they don't lose principal...

Bonds, anyone?

Oh, yeah. For the past couple of years.
