Spending one day in Phoenix, one day in San Diego, one in L.A./Irvine, and three in Las Vegas!
Any advice as far as what to see, what to do, what tables to play, etc...?
Leaving early early Saturday morning. Can't wait!

San Diego sights depends on your personal preferences. I'd go for Sea World but if you have been to other Sea Worlds you might prefer the San Diego Zoo or the art museum, both in Balboa Park. If African animals are your thing--the Wild Life Park further out from town. Old Town San Diego has shopping for Mexican crafts and many Mexican restaurants ranging from basic to fancy.
Anthony's Star of the Sea Restaurant (near Sea World I believe) is a fancy place for seafood but I found the cuisine worth splurging.

Duane, you MUST eat at Candelas in the Gaslamp Quarter. It is the Mexican equivalent of Spago, Chez Panisse or Po...just amazing (but affordable and really nice people).

If you are up Santa Monica way, drop in here (WINE EXPO, 2933 Santa Monica Blvd) and say howdy, Roberto

Where is the Gaslamp Quarter?

It is SD's equivalent of the French Quarter in N'awlins and, just like that, is located right next to the central business district. There are scores of nice restaurants, live music and theatre EVERY night, bicycle taxis (it is a pedestrian zone), a great wine shop called the Wine Vault and more. Big fun, and worth the trip from LA once a month or so....

Hi Duane. Hope you haven't left yet. I'd be happy to hear from you when you get to Phoenix. My favorite restaurants are Roxsands, Vincents, Eddie Matneys, and Christophers. I'll be busy Sat until 3pm closing down a show but would love to buy you a glass or so of vinegar after. My cell # is 602-538-1102. I'll try to remember to turn it on. WW

Well I'm back. T'was a successful trip! Skipped out on L.A. to spend a day at the San Diego zoo, lost only what I was willing to lose at the tables in Vegas, had a couple nice lobster dinners and a lot of free drinks. Had to skip out on the Grand Canyon this time, turned out to be more out of the way than we had planned.
WW- Sorry, but we didn't spend any more time in Phoenix... would have loved to stop by your place.

WW, hate to break it to you, but my Tigers will take care of the Wildcats long before they meet the Ducks.

Um, didn't the Duckies spank the wildcats like delinquent children all season? T'ain't gonna be no different, assuming there is a next time.
