There's a new product out called Wine Rescue that purports to use a carbon based technology to rid the TCA from an afflicted bottle. So, now for only $75 - $100 you can rescue that corked bottle of Two Buck Chuck. What a bargain!

What other organic compounds does it take out, everything that actually makes the wine taste good?

No doubt brought to you by the company that introduced us to the amazing PERFECT SOMMELIER!!! WHICH, as we know, is a wonderful, truly mind boggling device that ages wines in seconds! Roberto and WW swear by it...(well at least they swear). Sorry all...just had to bring it up again.

The stuff DOES work, surprisingly. However there are two problems, one it is expensive, and two is that the wine has already had the fruit rendered lifeless by the TCA -- that does not mysteriously come back. You won't taste the corkiness, but you won't taste fruit either.

The point is, if you stick anything into the wine, you won't taste the wine, at least not as it was intended for you to taste it.

Screwcaps is the answer!
