This puppy has to make any short list of P/Q wines. Inky black with lots of black fruit up front, peppercorn and a hint of bakers cocoa, this supple, sensuous, sweetheat makes it fun to imbibe. Had with a med-rare burger with a huge slice of Vidalia onion and some Worchester and it was "Campbell-Soup Time" Had to take a break from a steady diet of Zins and this done-did-it. 88/91. A real steal at 8.99. WW

IK - there is also a rather lenghty discourse on syrah right here on the Wine Board.

I rather thought it provided a lot of useful information about the grape and the wine.

Ah yes, I remember that thread well. The missive by Messer Fife lays the whole thing out in comprehensive, easy to understand order.

Gracious Drewbooger, dint' mean to trample on IKs' post but my reference point was the 99 Petite I posted about. Forgot it was under the 2000 post by misser Ik. By the way IK, it was the weener who first brought Bogle to the Curmsters 'tenshion. WW
