I bought this as a filler in a mixed case. I put it off for weeks because I hated the label. Tonight was the epiphany. I opened it and $8 should have been $80. A case WILL be purchased tomorrow. What a mouthfull. The 01 got a 90 in this months spectator so I was suprised the 02 was even available. Huge raspberry, smoke, and vanilla with a realy decent length finish. I don't have WW's timing down yet so I won't venture a guess. I can't wait for the next bottle...

As I sat on the couch finishing the bottle I realized that I never said it was their Two Vines Shiraz bottling. I then raced to my computer to clarify and low and behold the ol' weiner had already called me on my mistake. Yep, it's their cheapo everyday bottle that has my head spinning. Great stuff.

Poured another bottle down my throat last night. Tremendous big juicy stuff. Whence you first pour into the glass and you get this huge bouquet just jumping out before it gets anywhere your nose. It does loose this with time so drink quickly. Great bargain juice that has replaced Excelsior as my favorite cheapo.

I beg to differ on this one. I'm not feeling the "love", so to speak. I get the fruitiness that you do... but watered down.

In the best buy category, Excelsior Cab has this one beat hands down... blind folded. Excesior holds it own... you don't have to "hurry to drink".

You are sure right about the excelsior. I have been buying cases for two vintages now. Ant at $7, a bottle is as inexpensive as a glass at a nice restaurant. I still like the CC though. Spectator just gave it a best buy at 88.
