- winoweenie - 12-01-2004 Always interesting and a good value this is the best IMHO since the 97. Deep ruby color, nice nose of spices, black fruits, and a tad of forrest floor. Strong center, medium mid-palate, and a 3&1/2 lapper finish.Handeled mashed cauliflower with garlic, butter, and Cougar Gold with no problem. Tasty stuff. 89/90. 21 by the box.13.5% alc. WW - Kcwhippet - 12-01-2004 Agree on the wine - wonderful stuff. Mashed cauliflower, though! Sounds like old folks food! - californiagirl - 12-01-2004 Nope! Not old people food, it's SBD food! Can't seem to make it quite right, though. - winoweenie - 12-01-2004 The Cauliflower was good enought that CB asked me to make her favorite veggie tonight. That's mashed TURNIPS with boiled onions mashed jes' like potatoes. WW - dananne - 12-01-2004 Love Bonny Doon. Had the '99 of this a few weeks ago that I posted on. I'd like them a lot more at the price you get them for -- here in Atlanta it runs closer to $30, and I can get better bang-for-the-buck with CdP. Love mashed turnups. We also add onions, with leeks and garlic, too. Good non-starch sub for mashed taters for low carbers, which Anne is from time-to-time. - winoweenie - 12-02-2004 Us'ns also on the lo-carb thingy. WW |
