- HHL - 07-10-2002 I don't typically like champagne or whites. However, I am looking for a champagne to have for toasting (no food involved) at my October wedding and for the brunch the next morning, which will include typical brunch fare: fritattas, chicken and pork sausages, fruits, breakfast breads, etc. Can anyone suggest one or even two (one for each event) champagnes that a pinot noir lover may enjoy? I have, in the past, found champagnes to be either too fruity or too high in tannins (pinots can be, but they seem to have a fuller body to compensate). Thanks. - Innkeeper - 07-10-2002 Hi HHL, and welcome to the Wine Board. A Blanc De Noir (100% Pinot Noir) would be right up your ally. Piper Sonoma makes a very nice one. Don't know your politics, but it was a favorite of the Gipper. - barnesy - 07-14-2002 My best advice would be to stop in at E&R Wine Shop down on Macadam and talk to Ed or Richard. They are very nice and help you out. They have never failed me yet. Barnesy |
