2000 Domaine Saint Luc, Cotes du Rhone Villages ($10 Blue Hill Wine Shop). A case of this one and a case of another CDRV were on the floor of the shop at the same price, so asked advice. They recommended this one and they were right (at least about its quality). A ton of fruit and spice in this one. Blackberries, a hint of raisins, and black pepper on the nose and upfront. More spice and fantastic complxity and earth on the palate. Moderate oak, smooth tannin, and everything else point you to a delightful and lingering finish. Very, very nice with grillpanned porterhouse steak with aioli sauce, and salad. It was the aioli that steered us away from a more traditional steak wine.`
