My best friend Jeff came over last night while his wife was shopping, mine was working, so we decided to be bad boys. With both trees up and the house decorated with a fire in the fireplace we cranked up the Christmas music and popped a few wines. This was first up. Elegant, tasty syrah. Dark purple showing herb infused blackberry and dark cherry with hints of cherry pithe, stem, iron and bitter chocolate. Long finish and very food friendly. A plesure to drink and Jeff loved it (his wine of the evening). No heat at all from the 14.9% Alc/vol. $28 on sale. FWIW Laube gave it an 83, Parker gave it a 90. We gave it two thumbs up.
