- Thomas - 01-19-2002 Thought I'd better get this one in to you guys who posted above--another $10 gem I recently discovered for the shop. The raisin/pepper combo is there, as it should be, but what is striking about this wine is its unblemished balance. Rounded yet firm, full yet delicate, alcohol is up yet so much flavor subdues it, finish seems to go on until you fall asleep that night... - Bucko - 01-19-2002 Foodie, are you talking about Rabasse Charavin? They make several cuvees. - Thomas - 01-19-2002 Sorry, Bucko, I left off the Charavin--that's the one. - Bucko - 01-19-2002 Any particular cuvee, or is it just plain CdR? - Thomas - 01-20-2002 It's a Corrinne Coutourie CDR - Bucko - 01-20-2002 Man, this is just like pulling teeth.......... There are some bottles of Rabasse-Charavin in our area, the Cairanne, Rasteau and Cairanne Cuvee Estevenas cuvees. - Thomas - 01-21-2002 ouch! I think you hit a nerve. That's it; nothing else to tell; Cotes du Rhone; the producer is "...Recoltant Cairanne, Vacleuse, France"; end of story; no cuvee listed other than the designation I list above; finished; finito; finis. Now, take out the cotton, I will spit and go home. You can send me the bill. [This message has been edited by foodie (edited 01-21-2002).] - winoweenie - 01-21-2002 WHOOSHIE...DO we be thru? WW - Thomas - 01-22-2002 incidentally, when did Bucko switch to dentistry??? - Bucko - 01-22-2002 Do a little Vet work on WW as well........ |
