Took a while to get going...let it air for 2 hours. Medium ruby color, nose of floral black fruit and soft Hermitage nose. Palate of bacon, casis, tar, and smoked meat notes. Kind of has a small compact mid palate of concentrated fruit, but not a particularly long finish or enticing mouthfeel. It is obviously Crozes, but not a blockbuster. Still, its good juice for the $15 fare. I prefer it over the cheapy Aussies or Calis. Soft tannins but still evolving. Might wait 6 months before I try another one.

Went well with heavily seasoned grilled pork tenderloin.

Good plan. Our experience with Crozes' is they usually need five to get there.

favourite producer in Croze Hermitage is Alain Grillot. While its a bit more expensive, it's worth the price of admission.
