I'm looking for the German White wine I believe is spelled "Kyffhauser". We had this sold in Canada about 7 years ago, and now can not find it anywhere. Do you know if this wine still exists. It's one of the best White German Wines I've tasted.

Welcome to the board, Brenda. "Kyffhauser" is the name of a mountain in Saxony (in the former East Germany), said to be the "sleeping place" of Barbarossa, Frederick I, the 12th century unifying king of Germany. Have not been able to find any information on a wine by that name, but would expect it to be made from grapes grown on the sides of the mountain, a common practice in Germany.

Thanks for the info. I made the mistake of saying it was a white when it is a red wine, not to many red german wines around, but this one was excellent. If you find any more info on this for me, please give send me a message.
