- Duane Meissner - 10-11-2008 Having this as I type. It's a trocken Spätlese from Rheingau. Pleasant, but not particularly interesting. Nice straw color. Crisp in the mouth, but all flavor (mostly citrus) seems to be muted. I paid 9 Euros. Wouldn't buy it again. I'm thinking much of this will go into the leek soup that my wife is preparing at the moment to give it a little zip. - winoweenie - 10-11-2008 Don't youse gots no nice Alsace Red there Duane-Baby? Don't ruin that lovely leek soup wif that sissy white. WW - Duane Meissner - 10-12-2008 No more sissy whites for me for awhile. Alsace red? Are they producing any good ones there? I thought that was strictly white territory. DM - TheEngineer - 10-13-2008 Son't miss the spatbur.... what ever,Pinot Noirs from Germany now too.
