- robr - 09-04-2005 This is the first glass of this I have had in 30 years. When my mother returned from her summer in Germany in 1976 she brought a bottle of "May Wine" back. This is it! Very floral, honey sweet, fruity and delicious. Does anybody else like this stuff? It's probably in the category of "acquired tastes". BK - TheEngineer - 09-04-2005 Yes, I like the stuff much but sometimes prefer a Scheurebe....almost like drinking a grapefruit juice but much cleaner. Have you given one of those a try? [This message has been edited by TheEngII (edited 09-05-2005).] - robr - 09-17-2005 No, this is the only Gewurtz I could find. - Bucko - 09-17-2005 I'm a big Gewurzt fan, but I rarely drink anything but Alsatian these days. No one else comes close IMHO. - wondersofwine - 09-19-2005 I've enjoyed Fetzer Gewurz in the far-distant past also. Maybe I should try one again. They are probably off-dry compared to those from Alsace. I like the Trimbach Gewurz but like a spicier one when I can find one. |
