- TheEngineer - 11-23-2008 Lost my notes, can't remember a darn thing... had dinner with the minister across the street and opened up this thing. So unfortunately I only go to this with a small glass and small sample...but what I do remember is... KC, it came from your store. This was the bottle that Dave asked me to try. Well, I hope he remembers cuz it pretty gosh darn good. Ripe and broad and what did they do, strain the wine through the soil? Great minerality. A bit higher acidity would have been nice for this breadth but it was a solid bottle. Thank Dave for the recommendation. Are you guys in tonight? - wondersofwine - 11-24-2008 Probably a Brauneberger Juffer Sonnenuhr. Could be Fritz Haag. I'm not sure what other producers use grapes from Juffer Sonnenuhr (maybe JJ Prum or Christoffel?) I have a 2002 from Fritz Haag (an Auslese) but it may be closed now so I think I will hold it until 2010. - Kcwhippet - 11-24-2008 Can't help you, Eng. It doesn't immediately ring a bell, but I'll look tomorrow morning when I get back in the shop and get back to you. I've been out four days with this darn hernia operation, so haven't been in. - Thomas - 11-25-2008 WOW's is a good guess, and it is stunning wine. - wondersofwine - 11-25-2008 KC, sorry about the hernia. Take it easy as you recover. Let Judy pamper you. - Daveyjones1 - 12-01-2008 Its Richter Juffer sonnenhur I loved this wine monster acidity. Eng has had it more recently than I so please feel free to correct me. I thought it great balance and yeah tons of minerality. - TheEngineer - 12-03-2008 Thanks Dave for the producer. |
