Hoping you can help me decide to save this for a special occasion or not. I received a bottle of Piper-Heidsieck Extra Dry Champagne as a housewarming gift from the previous homeowners. I see no mention of a bottling year anywhere.

The rest of the front label says: Ancienne Maison Heidsieck fondee en 1785. Reims, France. The back label says: Produced and bottled by piper-heidsieck c.c. Reims - France. Sole USA Distributors Renfield Importers, Union NJ.

Any ideas?
Thanks.

That's a low-end non-vintage Champagne that retails for $20-$25. The "Extra Dry" designation actually means it will be a bit sweet. The previous owners were just trying to make nice; remember it's the thought that counts.
