100% Monastrell(Mourvedre) from 60 to 100 year old vines, Yecla Spain.

RUN to find this one!!! Very rich and full bodied Mourvedre. Spicy blackberry, blueberry and ripe raspberry. Seamless with a 45+ second finish. One of the best values ever. Bought a case today for $145, you do the math. As good as mourvedre can get. (Can you tell I'm excited?) 14.5% Alc/vol. FWIW a RP 93...and he's right.

Nice notes, Drew. Can find only one Yecla in my notes, an '02 Castano Solanera last year, and it was a blend of Mourvedre and CS. It was nice enough, but not one to roll your socks up & down like yours. Will definitely go lookin'. Thanks.

Look hard, Gil, looks like they only made 800 cases. Here's what the bottle looks like.

Sounds great, and thanks for the heads up!

Very distinctive label.... shouldn't be hard to spot if it's on a shelf. Thanks.

Popped another tonight served with venison tenderloin "marsala" except I didn't have any marsala wine so I substituted Hardy's whishers blake...it was WONDERFUL!!! Tender medalions of venison prepared in the marsala style with garlic red mashers and garlic green beens,Eileen was humming throughout dinner. This is a wonderful wine for $15 to $18. If you can find it, buy it.
