Wow this thing is MASSIVE. Way too young, grippy, ripe loaded powerhouse of wine. Chocolate, cherries, tobacco, stones, and big tannins. Probably a decade away from drinking window but my only bottle. Impressive in an unabashed way.

Engineer,

You are concerning me.

Kidding aside, it seems that your palate is gravitating toward the dense, in-your-face wines.

What would you eat with this wine?

hehehehee....sorry that is not the case ...I've not totally gone to the dark side.

Remember that a few nights ago, my fav wine was still the sexy 96 Chambolle Musigny even admist the 01 Tua Rita, 00 Pavie, and a few other monsters.

I only commented on how well made it was despite its size and on this night the lithe Meursault was the fav...best judged by the fact that it was the first to go.

I think I've just had more exposure lately to this style of wine, not sure why, mostly timing I guess. I was invited to dinner with a friend that loves these large Spanish wines so I brought a bottle along with me along with the Meursault. If anything he ended up liking the Meursault as well.

For dinner we had Slow roasted beef short ribs in a red wine reduction sauce, yum!
