The wineshop at Elliott's on Linden in Pinehurst had a Friday evening wine tasting.
QUINTA DOS ROQUES ENCRUZADO
White wine being sold for $28. Tastes crisp and clean, something like a Sauvignon Blanc (but without the grapefruit or grass) as one customer said. Transparent, pale. 13.5% alcohol. Light body. Matched very well with the scallops ceviche. I may order a couple bottles for the summer.

QUINTA DO CORREIO JAEN/TEMPRANILLO Retails for $18. A red blended wine. I got raspberry notes. Medium to full-bodied. Long finish. Nice.

PORTO KOPKE 20 YEAR TAWNY $45.00 a half bottle. Served with Manchego cheese.
Nice dark amber color. I was getting a distinct walnut note along with dried fruits. I bought a half bottle to take home and may re-order at some point. I participated in a tasting of Kopke house during a past Triangle Wine Experience.

2007 PORTO KOPKE Vintage Port. Retails for $40. Rather sweet. Served with Spanish bleu cheese with apricot on toast points. My end of the table prefered the Tawny to the vintage Port.
