History
Our house was built in the 19th century on the site Dizy where it still stands today. Our elders, and Georges Emile Berthelot were winemakers who themselves had inherited from their parents. The wine heritage is in the Berthelot family for 5 generations. Small operation at first, and Georges Emile worked their vineyards and their wines themselves. For marketing, Georges moved through France by train to make his champagne. It must be remembered that the late 19th century, few winemakers who produce their own champagne. The Berthelot these people are part of bold and courageous volunteers who have not hesitated to travel miles to advertise and sell their champagne. But it was the arrival of Paul Berthelot's son George, who developed the Champagne trade under its brand, still used today by his son Jacques and his little son Arnold BERTHELOT. He has throughout his life traveling in his car in France, to go to the discovery of new customers for most of us are still faithful. Old today, I am pleased that it continues to come and greet customers during their visit to our area. It is with this same philosophy of human values that this generation continues to work.

The vineyard is composed of several parcels located Dizy (1er Cru) and Ay (Grand Cru). All localities are identified and their membership in a particular territory (nature of the basement, grape, vines conduct ...) is the subject of a deeper understanding, we realize in order to better define our raw material and work . For almost 5 years, we have removed many chemical treatments (weeding and anti-mildew, anti-mildew) because they are often unnecessary and ethics us closer to a rational culture rather than wasting nuisance. This practice is also in the air. So much the better!
