Friends,

I just bought a little cabin on a lake. Nothing fancy, mind you... but a beautiful setting for an offline get together. It is in Hidden Valley Lake, near Middletown, CA. It's just about 12 miles north of the Napa County line, about 24 miles north of Calistoga. 35 miles from St Helena. 32 miles to Healdsburg and the Russian River. Wineries around everywhere.

The house has only 3 bedrooms but there is also an RV/campground about a mile away and a Casino/Hotel about 5 minutes away.

Right now there is nothing in it -- not a stick of furniture, not even a refrigerator. But I'll be furnishing it, as I can afford it, over the summer. Don't expect anything posh though -- it is your basic getaway.

Anyone interested in getting together for an offline sometime this summer or fall??? It would be fun to meet up. What do you think?

Jackie

Jackie, it sounds heavenly. Congratulations. I wouldn't be able to make an off-line so far from home, at least not this year. I don't get a vacation from my job until next February. But remembering the fabulous time I had at the Finger Lakes off-line, I sincerely hope that many of the posters here will respond positively. I feel like I made friends for life that weekend! Go, you people!

Sounds Great! My only constraint would be CB. Everything is determined by her health. WW

It is something that I'd love to do, but can't schedule it in this year.

Unfortunately, Judy and I can't make it this year either. We're bringing our three children, their SO's and the four grandsons down to our place in FL for Thanksgiving. That pretty much takes care of this year's vacation funds.

Not to worry. There will be other years. Anyone who's planning a trip to Napa could give me a shout though --- maybe we can get together.
