I'll be spending several days in Santa Cruz in mid-march, and despite spending the last 20 years in northern CA, it's a region I'm fairly unfamiliar with. Any recomendations of where to taste? Good and reasonable restaurants? Where to stay? Any and all advice appreciated.

Guess everyone else passes by the SC Mountains just as I always have. Maybe I'll have to start with Bony Doon and go in alphabetical order until I reach the Z's.

Looking forward to your report. Hope you at least get to the "Rs."

If you make it to the R's, try to get to River Run near Aromas.

Bonny Doon is not a bad place to start. Also in the B's, I have liked the Bargetto Gewurztraminer but haven't sampled their other varieties.

I was referring to Ridge just to the North.
