I went to an instore tasting Saturday. We had the Peter Lehmann "Layers" white blend which I already posted on with Thanksgiving wines. We had Joseph Drouhin Beaujolais Nouveau--okay for what it is and I think another red that I have already forgotten. What impressed me and a number of others at the tasting was the cranberry "wine" punch. Teresa sold out of Tomasello Cranberry Wine (vineyards in New Jersey) and is reordering. I ordered two bottles which hopefully will come in in time for making a Thanksgiving Day punch. The recipe:

Tomasello Cranberry Punch

2 parts Tomasello Cranberry Wine
1 to 2 parts orange juice
1 part Sprite
Squeeze lime
Garnish with lime

This year we're selling Dubouef and Laboure Roi Beajolais Nouveaus. Dubouef is arguably the king of BN, but this year my vote goes to to LR. Actually, this year's BN is the first in quite awhile that I think I would actually drink more than once. The juice really tastes good!

I just picked up a couple of Duboeuf's today, more out of a sense of obligation than any real anticipation. But with KC's comment.... maybe there's hope.

You'd trust ole' leather-tonges notes? I'd rather have me mouth full of bramble-berries. WW

No problem, WOW. I've backed away from rabid anti-positions. The world has room for everything.

Just don't call it WINE

And with that cranberry "wine" the masses say, "mea gulpa, mea gulpa, mea maxima gulpa!"

Yeah, that was pretty good, Drew. The punch was a hit at our Thanksgiving dinner.
