Tried this SW from Valonga, in the Oporto district of NW Portugal, at a tasting last week, and we both really enjoyed it. A clean, crisp, refreshing white, an ideal summer sipper on the deck or patio and accompaniment to the bounty of the sea. Meant to be consumed young. Grabbed a few at $7.99 per but suspect it can be found for even less.

Had this last night with a seafood salad, scallops sauteed in OO and wine, and angelhair pasta. Spritzy and clean but with a lengthy funky-lemon finish that prolongs the seafood aftertaste. Probably better with baked fish.

Not familiar with the particular producer, but I had vinho verde in a Fado club in Lisbon years ago. It was a perfect foil to the spicy food--hot peppers etc. being served.

Thanks, Wow, I'll remember that. The little dash of herb seasoning I used just didn't do much. Maybe a blast of Green Tabasco would help.

Pulled this tonight to accompany grilled shrimp and veggies (little onions, sliced yellow squash and green peppers). Sprayed the shelled and deveined shrimp with OO and marinaded the veggies in Italian dressing. The vino was right on.... still a bit lemony, and spritzy.... and only 10% alc/vol.
