- TheEngineer - 11-28-2009 Needed to reconnect with a sherry today due to the cool weather. Sherry always for me smells like a chinese rubbing alcohol at the beginning. But looking behind that, I find brunt brown sugar, coconut husk, dried figs, nuts, and caramel. Nicely done for a pretty decent price too. - andrawes76 - 12-07-2009 I've always wondered... whats the alcohol content behind that might I ask? What would you pair it with? - TheEngineer - 12-07-2009 I think the alcohol content was about 20%. We paired it with a good conversation - TheEngineer - 06-23-2010 Opened another one of these today and had it chilled per instructions of a local sherry fan. A couple of ice cubes and it became a nice late afternoon sipper I wish I had bought more of these at $6. - VouvrayHead - 06-23-2010 Next time you see those at $6, let me know - TheEngineer - 06-27-2010 Will do! There have been so many sales this year and somebody in Boston has been letting go fo Lustau Sherries on the cheap like crazy. I got Palo Cortados for insanely low money,... though that well seemed to have dried up. Best purchase recently? 2002 JJ Prum Wehlener Sohnuner Riesling Spatlese for $27 a bottle... I bought two cases. |
