Hello, all.

I'm new and had a quick question.

I like to sip fine Brandy and have a bottle of Gerlain special barrel XO coming that isn't cheap.

I have a square glass decanter in my office at my store that I would like to store it in. It's all glass with a glass stopper and utilizes a ribbed plastic cork for the sealant.

Before I put this $100.00 Brandy in it, my question is:

It should store just a well (years and years) in this glass decanter just as well as it will in it's own bottle, right?

I thought it would be an attractive liquid that I can pour some sips from, from time to time.

Thank You in Advance.

Hi Goldslinger, and welcome to the Wine Board. The shape and stopper sound OK, but my concern is whether the glass has lead in it. I have no problem with lead crystal glasses or decanters that will be emptied quickly, but I'm nervous about long term storage in it.

No, it's glass because of the reasons you explained.

Thanks for the reply.
