1999 Wagner, Estate Bottled, Finger Lakes Vidal Blanc Ice Wine ($18.99 375ml). Residual sugar: 15.4%. Alcohol level: 11.6%. Brought this back from the Finger Lakes Wine Board get-to-gether. Waited for a good time to pop it. Since tonight was Easter Vigil, we figured why not. Had it a couple of hours after dinner with some almonds.

It gives you rich overripe peaches and pineapple on the nose and upfront. A honeylike almost apricot elixer crosses the palate, and the finish lingered and lingered. We chose this one over the Riesling and Vignoles Ice Wines while others went for those. We have no regrets what-so-ever; and since we are going back the week after next, we fully intend to get some more. Fantastic.

Sounds interesting, IK. It would be fun to sample all three ice wines they make.

Popped that second bottle with a friend last night. It hasn't lost a thing. Still a lovely dessert wine.
