- Drew - 07-28-2008 66% Zinfandel, 17% Carignane and 17% Petite Sirah. Picked this up at a favorite wine shop north of Rehobeth Beach, Delaware. I am no longer a Ridge virgin! Had my first tonight with Eileen. Very impressive wine. Very perfumy, filled the room. Very dark black/garnet, not opaque. I cannot describe the nose but it's a dusky, rich nose that I've noticed in some petite sirahs. I guess this is what I've read referred to as Draper Perfume. Rich, concentrated fruit, dark raspberry and deep blackberry, balanced, full bodied with a very long finish. Over the top enjoyment for us and I could smell this all night. 14.9% Alc/vol. $35 Drew - Innkeeper - 07-29-2008 I'll bet that's the same shop we've been to a couple of times. Very nice. Nice wine too. - winoweenie - 07-29-2008 Has been a top 3 im my zin choices for over 30 yars. This bottling and their Lytton Springs are must buys every vintage for the weener. WW |
