I like Zin when it's good. That tart cranberry that comes through is what I really look for. The only one that I've found to consistently deliver on that is Turley (especially the Old Vines). That being said, this Orin Swift was killer. Normally I'm a pretty big fan of Orin Swift, if for nothing else than I love his packaging, but this wine had that awesome cranberry, but also some back end complexity. Almost brooding. Love it.

(That night we also had a 2005 JL Chave Hermitage Blanc and a Cali Pinot that blind I would have pegged for a Chateauneuf du Pape...I kid you not. I can't remember the name and I'm sad :-( )
