I have just started a forum at my site www.mariuswines.com.au and the subject of Zinfandel has come up. I don't know much about Zinfandel, it is a rare beast out here! Can one of you guys tell us all about the wonders of Zinfandel. Many thanks.

Hi there rp and welcome to the board. If you go back one year on this thread you'll have enough info on the Zin grape to add a zin newsletter to your site. Now I go must throw a langostini on the barbie. WW

Thanks for that Winoweenie, but that is exactly what I did not want to do.

Well, well, there rp let me get this straight. You want to learn something about Americas' indigenous grape variety and then when I gave you the means to do so you tell me you don't want to spend your time looking up the info. You expect me to take my time instead and outline what has already been posted on this subject! WOW. We've had a bunch of lazy students looking for us to do their homework for them but this impertinence is the king. I take umbrage that you consider your time more precious than mine. I'm sure someone in Aussie-land will feel the subject important enough to spend a couple of hours learning the basics of the Zinfandel grape. I've been at it for 35. WW

Interesting thread, ww. I was just thinking recently about how I am a little tired of imparting information on this board and being accused of, of what, I don't know. Maybe my delivery needs work, but I find it difficult to give over information any other way but to post it unvarnished and straight-forward.

While I am ruminating over this stuff we get this guy who wants information, but on his terms. Perhaps my post should be in the rants section; in any case, it is tiring.

Well Foodster ole'-pal guess we could Parkerize our answers and charge for the info. I'm just not in the mood, being on a sabbatical, to coddle these people who want info from people with knowledge for free, then want to dictate the terms. The other Aussie that I spent an hour digging up the current retail on the 28 Bordeaux hasn't even the courtesy to acknowledge the fact. It would have probably cost him 100 bucks to get this from regular channels. Seems like the Aussies are going to be marked off my schedule immediately. I used to think Frenchmen were repugnant WW

I just thought that one of you guys might be happy to spend a few minutes imparting some of your knowledge and beating the drum about your indigenous grape. My apologies if I have offended anyone.

I spent a few minutes telling you where you could get the answer. If you REALLY wanted to learn about Zin I thought you'd spend 30 to 60 minutes reading about it. WW
