- Winosaurus - 09-11-2006 Does anyone know if this 1994 Zinfandel is still drinking well? - Glass_A_Day - 09-11-2006 Welcome. Your bottle is pretty much over the hill. Pop it at try, but don't get your hopes up. It's probably history. - Winosaurus - 09-13-2006 You're probably right, G_a_D. I saw the bottle in a wine shop, and it looked to be in ideal condition. But, most likely, the fruit is gone by now. The Grand Mere is one of my favorite Zinfandels, but I can't recall tasting one more than five-years old. Thanks for your reply! - stevebody - 09-15-2006 I had a bottle of the '96 about a month ago and it was circling the bowl. Drink up and hope... - Kcwhippet - 09-15-2006 I like the Grandmere and have drunk more than my share. I believe the 94 is better than the 96, and was drinking nicely about three years ago when I last had it, but it was an inch from death. Mine were impeccably stored from release. So, that's my story and I'm sticking with it. Give it a try but have another wine ready to open if it's dead. - Drew - 09-16-2006 In my best Gene Wilder's voice.
