Carole and I had late, late hours tonight, could not face cooking, so we ordered Pizza Hut delivery and Carole said "Open up a good Zin." I pulled the cork on the Ridge and let the hassles of the day fade away.

Very aromatic, the wine still seems very youthful. Jammy, complex fruit on the palate, moderate but softening tannins, some briary/peppery/spicy nuances, and a very long, black fruit aftertaste. What a lovely wine. I'll wait another year to open the next one.

The only thing we question is your choice of pizza. Don't they have any real Italians in Tacoma?

I am glad someone else felt that way about Bucko's pizza choice. But then, most of us in the East know that a good pizza can only be had either in New York City or Chicago; luckily, the Zinfandel is available here too.

Hmm. I don't know enough about Zins to even be dangerous. They've always seemed like fruity upstart wines, the West Coast equivalent of Beaujolais; would have thought a '93 would have tanked by now. Definitely need to work on my education.
Bucko, we assume that "delivery" was the operative word in your late-night choice of pizza...If so, then kindness is in order; you're forgiven.

"Delivery" is the operative word here. I was so tired that I even mistyped the wine -- it was the Lytton Springs, not the Geyserville.
