shame on me that I didn't write down the name of the brand, but hubby and I opened up a bottle of Melot, I think it was Turning Leaf, and it was horrible. It was strongly metalic tasting, very bitter. Hubby poured out his glass and the whole bottle, tossing it away, and I didn't get to write down any info about it. The only thing I remember about the bottle was that it was a dark green, not much help.
Anyhow, what I wanted to know is, is that normal for Merlots to be that metalic, bitter tasting? Are there other brands that would be a better choice?

Often a wine with brett will give the impression of a metallic taste, or worse.
