was surprised that i couldn't find a post on this vintage of this colchuaga valley bruiser, so here ya go...

($15.99; 14.0%) dark, reddish purple; nearly opaque. deep nose of black cherry & plum, with hints of blackberry. really opens up after a couple hours in the decanter. big flavors of dark fruit, chocolate, spice and oak. very good finish and balance. should hit its peak in 3 years or so, then hold another 3. (i tried a '94 last month and it was still kicking.) this wine gives a great sense of terroir and is a winner every year. 91 points.

Always a solid producer. I haven't had much that I didnt' like from them and can't get enough of the Clos Apaulta.

You're right on Keith and I don't know why I don't buy more often.
