Continuing our recent string of pinots, my wife and I popped this one from NZ last night between dinner and bedtime.

Dark red color with a cola nose. Very smooth texture with cherry cola flavors predominating. Medium finish with a touch of cherry tartness that was not unpleasant. Overall, not very complex, but simple and tasty -- fun, easy drinker. 13% alc. Bought it for $20 locally. Would place it more in the company of Oregon's Benton Lane at around $16 if I had my druthers, but I like Benton Lane a bit more, I think, as I get more earth in their's. On the other hand, I've paid a lot more than $20 for pinots I've enyoyed far less, so I'd probably buy it again. Forrest makes a great sauvignon blanc, incidentally.
