We picked this up last summer at Grand Manan (NB) thinking it was a Candaian Wine until we read the fine print when we got home. Paid $10 Canadian for it. We popped it tonight with Kielbasa braised in red wine, potato cakes, and green beans almondine.

Here is an appropriate review from "Boozing It." "This 2007 is 60% Shiraz, and 40% Cabernet Sauvignon. Aged for 18 months in French Oak. Has 13.5% alcohol. Its color is like a bottle of ink, a very deep dark purple. The name Inkberry suites this wine perfectly. I get aromas of Plum, Raspberry, Cherry and Clove. I would describe it as apple butter and gravel sprinkled lightly with cinnamon. Flavors of Plum, Blackberries, Dark Cherry and Bitter Chocolate. Good balance, round tannins and lots of dark fruit on the finish. It has received 89 Points from Wine Spectator. That rating is a little high to me. It's very new world. I can see why people would like this wine a lot, but it’s just a notch above average for my palate. Tastes much better when paired with food."
