This was disappointing given the general reliability of Petaluma. Dark ruby with a subdued nose of blackberry and Chambord. Fairly non descript black fruit flavors with ample tannins on the very short finish. Decanted and let sit for several hours never changing. This wine is either totally shut down or a bad effort. 14%Alc/vol. $10
Here's what the bottle sez:

1999 Petaluma Shiraz is different to it's traditional Australian counterparts, having spicy, vibrant blackcurrant fruit character and a savoury tannin structure.

Good Post Drew.

I used to distribute the wine and was never a fan. I forgot about that wine and now I know why.
