Dinner guests brought a bottle of this to drink with the Irish Stew and brown bread I made. Hey, even the Aussies are Irish when mid-January temps in the Northern Hemisphere call for Hibernian comfort food!

This wine was tasty enough, with lots of explosive bramble fruit on the nose and palate, followed up with an oak-bomb wollop of pepper on the long finish. However, I think I prefer earthier Shirazes/Syrahs that are more well balanced and nuanced. I also suspect that a Rhone-based Syrah would have meshed more nicely with the herbs and stout in the stew. In any case, this was quite good for this style of wine. ~$12. Alc. 13%.
