- Wallace - 06-21-2000 Can anyone tell Alex Sebastian - Wooden Angel Restaurant what "Bin 65" stands for as in Lindeman's Bin 65? - Jason - 06-22-2000 A rep from Southcorp once told me that the Aussie's had a very mixed workforce many years ago. All these folks spoke different languages and the cellar master needed a way to communicate which wine he wanted pulled. When the wines were marketed the name just stuck. I think it has been kept because it is distinct to the Aussie's. To my knowledge ther is no other meaning to any bin number. - Thomas - 06-22-2000 I always thought it referred to the location in the cellar, but then I heard a similar story to the one Jason tells. I guess it is like the word Reserve in the U.S.--meaningless except for marketing. - winecollector - 06-22-2000 Alex Sebastian from the Wooden Angel? I'm suprised to see the name of a local yokel on here. The Wooden Angel (and the Wooden Indian) are practically in my back yard, as I reside in Beaver County. His selection of Californian wines is widely talked about by his friends in this area. I have never personally seen his collection, but I hear it's quite extensive. |
