I still have half a case of this wine and opened one the other night. This was one of the early released 98's, so they've been around for awhile. When I tasted my first bottle of the vintage, I thought it was a good QPR, soft, rich shiraz with little acid. Now it's very soft with dark cassis notes, emerging tar and even less acid. I don't think these will last as long as the 96 and 97's.
