Beautiful dark black ruby with pronounced lightening at the rim, almost opaque. Nose of in your face chocolate, plum and dark fruit. Bitter sweet chocolate, plum, leather and pepper flavors that start rich and full and fade a little on the mid palate. Finishes moderately long and slightly tannic. I paid $19....have seen it most other places at $16 and a store nearby has it for $12.99 which is a great bargain. I wouldn't buy it again for $19 but will by a few for $12.99. 13.5% Alc/vol. BTW, the '98 Hill of Gold Cab. is FANTASTIC.
