had been waiting for an "occasion" to pop this, but last night figured "what the heck," and opened to go with a sirloin on the grill rubbed with XVOO and "dukkah," which is a blend of aussie spices.

wine had wonderful aromatics and very nice mature flavors, still plenty of acid and some fine tannins, but the fruit is fading. drink 'em if ya got 'em. 90 points.

Is that really a Syrah from Oz and not a Shiraz? The focus this month on wine lovers is Syrah and only Syrah and the guys from Down Under are apoplectic.

The Clarendon Hills I posted on used the term Syrah so it's obvious some of the guys are using the accepted Rhone spelling. WW
