I couldn't wait to post....Beautiful dark inky purple/ruby. Simple nose of dark fruit and vanilla, toasty oak and a little alcohol. Flavors of VERY rich cassis and mature plum, dark chocolate and toasty vanilla/oak. This is one super cab with just a hint of oak, well balanced, smooth, good acidity and tannins on the finish which paired well with New York Strip Steaks tonight. 14.5% Alc/vol for $12.99...I don't know why so cheap here but great value.

We had one tonight with grillpaned boneless sirlion in the usual way. It was fine, but felt it was on the downside of the negative parabolic curve. Will lay the other two down for a couple of years. Thanks for the tip.

Sorry to hear that the wine was unfledged and callow for your palate. An extended horizontal repose may indeed produce a wine of venerable ranking.

Well, we popped the third one tonight (the second one is posted somewhere around here). The year and half rest did wonders for it. The best cab we've had this year. Fruit was still fresh, and the fully developed complexity was delightful. The tannin was almost perfectly smooth and chewy. The finish was three alarm. Matched it with our grilled porterhouse steak, green beans almondine, and corn on the cob tonight. Wonderful.

Natural cork, Tastevin. All of my corked wines over the years have had natural corks.
