2001 Poole’s Rock Wines, Firestick, Shiraz 70%/Cabernet Sauvignon 30%, Langhorne Creek ($15 Blue Hill Wine Shop). Lots of wonderful blackberries and black currents on the nose and upfront. Black cherries, hints of mint and spice, a slight overdose of oak and chewy tannin cross the palate. A soft and enduring finish. Matched with leftover Belgian Beef Stew (added to the cookbook this afternoon). All very, very nice.
