- Drew - 03-14-2004 70% Cabernet Sauvignon/30% Shiraz. The oldest wine I have and popped it in honor of WW's birthday. Beautiful opaque black/ruby color with lightening at the rim. Sweet infused vanilla black fruits on the nose. Blackberry, dark plum, vanilla and port like nuances tickle the tongue with a nice finish showing dusty tannins. A little past it's peak, IMHO, but then so is Verne . A beautiful and enjoyable 14 year old wine. Happy Belated Birthday, Verne. (I saved a little for Eileen when she gets home tonight after 10. 13.5% Alc/vol. $8. Drew - hotwine - 03-14-2004 Happy belated from here, too, WW. Sorry we let that slip by. We're so accustomed to reading your notes of magnificent wines, every day sounds like a celebration. Thanks to Drew for pointing it out. - winoweenie - 03-14-2004 P.I.P my patootie. Sounds like a solid handsome, good-looking drink to me. Tankee Drewskie. Did have a pretty solid week of partying. CB told me to slow down or get outta' town. I be leaving tomorrow.
