2002 Leasingham, Bin 7, Clare Valley, Riesling ($13.99 SHWC). The first of two went over very nicely. Gave a good whiff of varietal aroma of flora and citrus. This transferred to the tongue tip along with a prelude of a refined wine. Overripe limes, delightful acidity, and balanced complexity crossed the palate. All followed by a crisp lingering finish. Matched it with grillpanned boneless pork chops and spinach. I thought the wine went fine with the food, but mother enjoyed in more afterward. To each his/her own. This one would very likely improve over many more years. If you have not ventured into the Australian Riesling scene, better hurry before the prices soar.
