This Sparky Marquis wine usually doesn't impress me as much as the Henry's Drive Cabernet Sauvignon. I had a 1.5-oz. pour at Vin Restaurant. Opaque purple-black color with a nose of jammy berries. I found the wine to be brooding and jammy at the same time. Exhibits fine tannins and wood influence. Very dry finish. Not my style (more Parker's perhaps). It is currently on sale at the wine shop and I wanted to see if I was missing out on a good thing, but I continue to like Henry's Drive cabs better than the shiraz.

WOW,

i *like* the henry's drive shiraz, but i *love* the cab and that's what i purchase. sparky gets my shiraz money with his marquis-philips. just had a bottle of the '01 last night. this stuff just gets better every time i pop one. only have 4 bottles left, and wish it were 4 cases.
