Is itr O.K. to serve a good Port wine with a blueberry breadpudding? If not, what would you recommend? Plwease do not respond after Fat Tuesday (Feb 27, 2001) Thank You.

Port wine and chocolate are a match made in heaven. So, too, are strawberries and Champagne.

Port and blueberry? I am not so sure about that. I think that the port might be a bit too much for the fruit. And that the fruit might be a bit too much for the port.

Try a sweet Loire wine (Bonnezeaux or Quarts de Chaume) or sweet (Beerenauslese level) Riesling from Germany or Austria or Canada.

Port and chocolate are a geat match. Port and roasted walnuts are also a fine match; almost made in heaven.
