Tried this as it won DOUBLE GOLD and BEST SHIRAZ in the 2000 San Francisco International Wine Show which was held in June, 2000.
Black cherry and dark fruit nose, medium clear dark ruby in color, dark fruit notes with a slight tartness, very little oak, short finish....fairly average wine. Very Un-Shiraz like. IMHO not a good QPR.....I won't buy more. Bought locally for $6.99.
Here's a link for the complete show results.

Had the second half of the bottle tonight. A little better, richer and less tart....no way this wine won the awards it did.

Tonight I drank a 1996 Parducci Petite Sirah along with my wonderfully dark, tremendously flavorfull French Onion Soup.

Seemd like a very nice combination to me...... Great dark berry fruit and silky smooth mouth feel went wonderfully with the carmelized onions and rich, dark beef/veal broth.

I am sure glad I bought that bottle of Parducci. It was a tad bit more than $6.99 but under $15.00 if I remember correctly.
