I've been following this wine since 1996 and found 9 bottles in a shop on the way to the beach last Friday. The '98 version of this wine is stunning and I still have a few resting for special openings. This '03 is almost the '98 so I'm excited about what this wine may become. Opaque in the glass black/purple. Very floral with crushed blackberry, blueberry, white flowers and vanilla. Blackberry flavor dominates with hints of blueberry, red berry and port like nuances. Slight caramel and vanilla notes on the long finish. Not as fat as the '98 but very close including flavor profile. A very good wine for little $. $22.99 and 14% Alc/vol. FWIW the Speculator crowned it among it's top '06 100...and they got it right IMHO.

Popped one last night against my own inner advice. Very disjointed showing too much oak and coconut flavors and an abundance of tannins with most of the fruit shut down. Won't open another before '10.
